Solar Surge charger, iPhone second place, iDongle hardware jailbreak

A company called Novothink has unveiled a new case for the iPhone called the Solar Surge. The device has a solar panel that helps charge a 1320mAH battery inside the case and the thing sells for $79.95.

The iPhone is still in second place for smartphones in the US according to the latest details

from comScore. The iPhone is still far behind RIM who holds the top spot.

Jailbreaking the iPhone typically requires software and some free date. A new hardware jailbreak dongle called the iDongle has surfaced that can jailbreak any iPhone 3G or 3GS running OS 3.1.2 by just plugging it in.
