Jobs: iPhone app crash fix in September update

August 20, 2008 · Print This Article

While Apple’s iPhone firmware 2.0 may have fixed a few problems, it seems that a crash bug has been keeping iPhone owners from enjoying the apps they’ve installed onto their phones. The bug, which causes the firmware to not load non-default apps, reportedly occurs with both newly downloaded apps and with updates. There have been a few workarounds put forth, but all of them have so far turned out to be temporary stopgaps.

A fix is

coming, though. Responding to an mail from an affected customer, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that Apple is aware of the bug and will be fixing it with the next firmware update scheduled for September. Still a bit of a wait, but it’s better than nothing.
