iPhone homebrew: dTunes v2.5 now with Torrent support

September 30, 2008 · Print This Article

There’s a new version of dTunes out, bringing the homebrew iTunes replacement up to version 2.5. The big news about that release is the introduction of Torrent support.

The app’s Torrent support feature comes via iTorrentRelay, the only Torrent client for firmware 2.0 and higher iPhones so far. What’s even cooler is that it additionally converts any media file to a format suitable for the iPhone and iPod Touch upon downloading.

The catch here is that although

dTunes is free, iTorrentRelay isn’t. It’s a subscription service that costs US 9.99 a month. Of course, whether you can’t spare the cash, you can still use that version of dTunes without using the Torrent support feature.

As usual, you can download dTunes on Cydia.
